Today is a day of celebration - Kimberly Dawn Cline Evans Pigue will turn 50 years old at 2:00PM today. Oh my, how time does fly. She weighed 8 lbs and was very short so I knew that she was going to be a little "fireball" right from the beginning. While still under the influence of the drugs that they administered back in those days (the kind that just put you into another world) I told Dr. Parker that Billy was going to be very mad at me when he found out that I had another girl and that he had better take her home with him. He assured me that all would be well and, sure enough, it was. She became a daddy's girl from the very beginning and remained so until his death. They had lots of "ups and downs and ins and outs" and sometimes the shouting became too much for me to handle, but they always ended up in each other's arms and all was right with them again. Kim was the baby of the family for five years until I brought home Tracey and she wasn't sure that she was going to let Tracey live but as usual she joined the family with the spoiling and loving of this new child and they became fast friends. Oh yes, she had her ups and downs with Tracey also. The worst time I suppose was when she had to drive Tracey to school and Tracey was happy and talkative in the morning while Kim was just the opposite so she ruined each day for Tracey (that is what Tracey has told me). All through the years Kim has been a challenge for everybody that she associated with except her Aunt Ree and Uncle Pat. She was the love of their life and the times that she spent with them were probably Aunt Ree's happiest. The night Uncle Pat died they she was at their house and everytime Uncle Pat called "Tim" she would run down the hall with water or whatever she thought would make him happy. He was her buddy in every sense of the word. Kim has brought happiness to so many people - her sisters, her high school friends, her college friends, her Comdata friends, her TIC friends, her customers at the doctor's offices where she has worked, her extended families, and to me. However, Patrick is the light of her life. She has adored him forever and will continue to adore him. Now don't think for one minute that she and Patrick haven't had their ups and downs also, but if you got her to confess she would say that he is "perfect". When Brad came into her life she just fell head over heels in love and called me to say "I met a man last night that is going to be my husband and I love him". I just didn't think you could love so quickly and make that sort of decision on that little bit of experience but sure enough she did and that love has grown every day. When Brad gave her the diamond necklace for Christmas he explained that the diamonds got larger as they went down to show greater love all the time. Lauren and Kim may not see "eye to eye" all the time, but Kim loves Lauren and has made a place for her in her heart that is a forever thing and I will tip my hat to Kim that she has been a really good mother to Lauren. This tribute to Kim could go on and on and fill up pages because in my heart I have 50 years of daily memories of her but I shall stop now and simply say that I wish Kimberly a happy birthday and I feel so privileged to have been chosen by God to be her mother. She is a delight and a joy to my life.Sunday, January 18, 2009
