I went to my doctor this afternoon and after taking three x-rays and talking to me, making me move my arm up, down, in and out he declared me to be "amazing". I have never had that word used to describe me before and, needless to say, I was overjoyed. He told me that he didn't think, in the beginning, that I would ever be able to use my arm as well as I could today. I told him that his physical therapists were the amazing ones and, of course, I patted myself on the back by admitting that I had worked pretty hard at home with my exercises. He dictated a letter in my presence to be presented to the Senior Citizen's insurance company. I will send that to them when I receive it and we will just see what they say about the entire situation. My understanding is that they don't allow anyone to exercise on the equipment without someone being in attendance. So, you see something good does come out of every bad thing. Maybe nobody else will experience the trauma that I did by not getting any help when I needed it.
Last night was the Celebration of Tracey Night. My girls and I went to Panera Bread and Corinne had arranged for us to be in a private room and we all had soup, sandwiches, and wonderful pastry for dessert. We laughed and talked and shared stories and it was a wonderful night. Nita's blessing was especially inspiring when she thanked the Lord for Tracey and all that she means to us and to others. That is certainly the truth. She has the most beautiful spirit and it is a joy to be in her presence. The gifts that she was given delighted her. She has just returned from the beach and her blonde hair, blue eyes and suntanned skin just made a beautiful picture. I don't think she minded getting a year older - looking like she does she certainly shouldn't.
If you have read Kim's Blog you know that we went to Cord Ramsey's birthday party on Saturday evening. I concur with everything she said about the party - it was just the most perfect event that you can imagine. She "left no stone unturned" to make each guest there feel special and her food was wonderful but the best thing of all was watching that beautiful, perfect little boy as he interacted with each one of us and smashed his cake with his initials on it and loved all of his gifts. Leslie and Russell have three precious sons and they are doing a marvelous job raising them. As my mother would say "I take my hat off to them".
