Today, Sunday, has been a pretty rough day for our girl. Actually, she had a bad night last night. Nita and Tracey went out at 9:00AM and she was pretty uncomfortable and told of her night of nausea. She thought that maybe she had used the morphine pump too much yesterday and that made her sick. Her head was hurting very badly. Her oxygen level stays so low without the oxygen that she has to have it constantly. They took her for a CT test of her head and Nita accompanied them helping with the IV and oxygen, etc. After she came back from that ordeal she was glad to climb back into bed for a rest. I will give you a brief summary of the day from then on - Corinne came and Nita and Tracey left. Brad and Patrick came for a while and they left. Kim told Corinne that she felt like she had the flu so Corinne demanded a doctor to come to the room. He did and found that she did have a fever and he ordered a blood culture, a urine culture and swabbed her nose for flu. Her temperature at 6:30PM was 101.2 and her blood pressure was 176/74. She has had one bite of ice cream and that was because it had her pill crushed in it. Other than that she has not eaten nor drank anything. Corinne is staying the night with her and will be there in the morning to help with her shower, etc. Samantha, her hair dresser, was to come today to cut her hair but I do think they put that off until tomorrow. Looking at the purple bracelet on my arm and the picture of Kim, smiling so beautifully, that is on my desk as I write this it is so very hard to realize that she is so sick and the Kim that is usually so witty and so bright and so much fun is so quiet and so still. My prayer tonight is for the Lord to give her a restful, uneventful night and give her peace, comfort and the knowledge that God is with her and so am I and so are her sisters, husband, son and friends. Tonight it takes all of the courage and faith I can muster to say "God is good - all the time", even though I know He is.
