Today, Tuesday, has not been a good day for Ms. Kim. She had radiation today, but she will not have chemo this week because her white blood count is too low and she could not have the feeding tube procedure. Her count was 600 and it should be, and will have to be, 1000 before she can have chemo again. They do hope to be able to do the feeding tube procedure by Thursday. In the meantime she will continue with all of the many bags of various things that are being run through the IV tubes. She is very weak and very fragile. She had a lovely visit with her cousin, Alice, tonight. Alice is an accomplished seamstress and she brought her some pillow covers, monogrammed I might add, for her little pillow that Alice had given her previously that she keeps with her all the time. Alice also brought her gifts from her Aunt Faye, Uncle J. B., Alice and Henry, Jimmy and Judy and Bubba Owen, who was her precious cousin Cheryl's husband. Her emotions are right on the surface and the least thing makes her cry or feel sad or even scared. Corinne found her with tears tonight and asked her why and she admitted to feeling afraid. Right then Corinne held her hand and prayed for God to give her peace, strength and to fill the room with His presence. Corinne said that she began to feel better almost immediately. That, my friends, is prayer working its power that the Scriptures tells us about. As the saying goes "we don't know what the future holds but we do know who holds the future" so we just keep praying for a healthy future for our Kim and for this dreaded disease to be taken from her body. Please lift her up tonight and after she has a restful sleep, tomorrow will be a better day for her. I love you for loving Kim.
